I tend to partly disagree. The note-repeat function actually "LOCKS" into the time correction grid. The arpeggiator on the other hand doesn't. I wish it did though. It would be nice to have a quantized, time corrected arpeggiator. Maybe that's something JJ should consider as a feature enhancement as well as adding the ability to select the octave range (0-3) and adding up/down, random, and chord modes. The way the chord setting would work is the arpeggiator would allow you to hold down multiple notes at a time and it would arpeggiate polyphonically instead of one note after the other. The implementation of the arpeggiator on the Akai MPK series keyboard MIDI controllers is a perfect example of how these features would work.

OOOPS!!! I guess I should've read before I posted as just about everything I just said as already been mentioned earlier. Well, I'm definitely all for it. Oh, and the examples DrNibbert drew up are absolutely perfect as for as how these features should be implemented. DrNibbert, do you have an MPK??? Just curious. Hahaha.

Anyway, the only thing I would like to add in addition to the features already discussed is that the arpeggiator would stay in sync and lock to the time correction grid just like the note-repeat feature, or give the user a sync option to enable that. Oh yeah it would also be nice if the arpeggiator resolution go as small as 1/64th notes.

I generally agree with all ideas regarding Arpeggiator made here.
Especially alignment according to time correction grid and line-pattern rhytm assignment to arpeggiatorplayback.

hey, skimmed through but I don't think I saw this suggested:

make the arpeggiator a playback mode, rather than something that is recorded into a track. meaning you could record a track that is just some chords, set it to arpeggiator, and then change the way the track plays back by changing arp. timing or mode. this could even be integrated into q-link, so you could record timing changes but override them with the after button if you want to improvise later.

also, I think I posted in the feature request thread a while ago: free (millisecond) timing as well as quantized.

...and also just noticed this is one person bumping an old thread and it should probably be in the other forum. so nvm.
