Hi Hat tempo and speed

Hello:

I have been struggling with hi hat speed and tempo and have been trying to improve over the past 2 weeks despite trying to find info in these forums and videos, but have had limited improvement. I will have my sample and beat all made and sounds good, but when i try to put in the hi hat, it sounds misplaced, scattered, and not at the right speed. Any video's that focus on hi hat tempo or suggestions??? any equipment that might make this easier??

try this:
assign swing and shift timing for the hats to sliders.
hold down note repeat and adjust sliders till it sounds right.
