I'm trying to understand how to apply filters changes to an existing track MPC1K + OSXL3.18.
While playback is stopped, if I turn on the q-link to the filter I want and set the level, then press OVERDUB + PLAY, record for the length of the sequence (without moving the q-link) and then press stop - that works.
If I play the sequence, turn on the q-link, OVERDUB + PLAY and move the q-link during playback - that works too.
However, let's say that I have a filter going up and down and I want to overdub that to a static flat filter e.g. at level 33 - if, during playback I turn on the q-link and adjust it to the level I want, then press OVERDUB + PLAY, this new, static level is not recorded. I could always stop playback and use the method I described above but sometimes I want to make changes on the fly with the other tracks playing Also, if I want to completely remove any changes I recorded, other than going into step edit or recording at a neutral value (e.g. PAN 0 or LPF 100), I don't see a way to do this.

I've check http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2 ... qlink3.htm and searched here, but I can't find anything that explains the rules governing the q-link effects.

Can anyone help?

the qlink has to be in motion for any data to be recorded. even if you have AFTER on and are in OVERDUB mode... nothing gets recorded unless the qlink is physically moved.

to do what you want you probably will have to go into STEP EDIT and insert one step with the filter at whatever setting you want. it will then stay at that setting until the qlink is moved again.

if you want to do it in realtime you can just give the qlink the tiniest little nudge with your finger, just enough to move it a little bit so that its current position is recorded into the sequence.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Any ideas for quickly clearing all q-link data?

There is a pretty useful shortcut with the erase button. When sequence is stopped. press erase.. and something with it.. I think shift..
Then navigate through the windows

there is no way i know of to delete all of the info quickly.

if the qlink stuff you recorded was REALTIME, then in STEP EDIT you can choose to view only 'REAL TIME' data and it will only show that, but you then have to sit there and hit the DELETE tab over and over to erase everything. very tedious.

if the qlink data is NOTE ON data then it is recorded as part of the pad hit itself. you have to go to each pad hit in STEP EDIT and turn off the qlink data that was recorded with each hit. equally tedious.

might be good to request some way to easily edit this stuff from JJ. i'm hoping for some qlink improvements in os 3 that i requested so this would go along with that.

Thanks for this. For filters, you can press ERASE then spin to the back and then back one [REAL_TIME], and delete all those events. This works sometimes...when it's not working I look in STEP EDIT -> REAL-TIME and the events are deleted there, but in ALL EVENTS those filters are still there... I think this might be more of a bug than a missing feature....
I've also tried deleting all but note data, but no joy...

Seems to be you can delete all real-time if it was only a filter. if you had a filter then recorded pan, it all becomes note-on data (I think). A 100% trustable delete realtime option would be good - where do you think is better to post it, viewforum.php?f=38 or http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/bug/report.htm

Sorry to jump into this topic, I ve never really used Qlink because I can t understand how it is supposed to work. So I have a quick question about live use, not even recording or deleting.

I load a sample on pad1, I set real-time TUNE low and high to -6 and +6 and suddenly I want to play with other Qlink features. If I go to real time PAN and LEVEL, pan become **** up i.e. it only plays the left side and if I touch LEVEL finally the range become 0 to 6 and I don t have access and can t modify the range.

Is there a problem with negative values? Any Q link expert insight on this?
Links or advices on how to use Q link efficiently?
Thanks in advance

The main problem is the After key light up with no reason, when is at least not desirable to turn on, I forgot to send it earlier to jj. I mostly use LPF cutoff so I don't see everything what can be wrong, but will check other things.
