sequence with mixed tracks : mixer doesn't work

I use JJOS2 XL on an MPC1000.

I created a sequence with 5 tracks :
T1 drum, prog 1 (drum) ie kick
T2 drum, prog 1 (drum) ie snare
T3 drum, prog 1 (drum) ie congas
T4 drum, prog 1 (drum) ie HHat
T5 chord, prog 2 (INST) ie a chord progression

the problem is when i do mode + pad 8, the mixer doesn't fonction in this situation (ie I cannot set the levels of each track and can't assign FX to the individual tracks).
I suspect it is because I use 2 different programs, but this doesn't make sense.

how can I solve this problem ?

Did you have a look at the OUT tab in GPE (mode+pad7)?

oh I forgot about the track mixer at mode+pad 4 too.

If you have one of the latest version there is a 5 tracks display by the way

thanks, but the main PAD mixer works fine if my 5 tracks are within the same DRUM program and without a CHORD track.

and so it bugs me that by having a chord track along with my normal drum tracks, i cannot use the main PAD mixer anymore, and i just wonder why ...

let me be more clear :
my usual set up is:
track 1 uses only pad 1, track 2 uses only pad 2, etc..

so when i use the pad mixer : channel 1 on the mixer (pad1) affects track 1, etc.
and everything work (level, pan, FX assign etc.)

now i did that, AND added one more track: a CHORD track and on that track I programmed a chord progression. NOW the track mixer works BUT now the pad mixer does NOT work anymore !

Regarding what you wrote in the first post, what happens if you put everything in the same program? it should work no?

I think pad8 mode is a pad mixer so it should work with the program assigned to the track you're using when you go into that mode.

I think what you could try too is copy the same program several times and give slightly different names, so you could start using track mixer.

but apparently (ie that's my experience) a CHORD track can only fonction with an INST program, that is the reason I needed 2 programs : a classical DRUM program for my drum tracks and a 2nd program, INST, for the CHORD track.

Now concerning the mixers (pad and track) if you go to :

you can see in the top screen capture "INST uses Track mixer" meaning that an INST program cannot be adjusted with a pad mixer ... (indeed, like I said at the beginning, I verified that the pad mixer doesn't operate with an INST prog. ).
So here is my understanding: CHORD tracks are based on INST programs, which in turn can only be mixed with a Track mixer and NOT a pad mixer ...

so if in my sequence I have both Drum and CHORD tracks, I probably can mix the DRUM tracks with the PAD mixer, but need to go to the Track mixer to adjust my CHORD track (since it is based on a INST program).
This is confusing to me.
I'd appreciate here any idea, comment, suggestion !

You answered your own question, yeah pad mixer does not work on INST program.
It does not have anything to do with chord track, both DRUM and INST pgms can be played. BTW you can easily translate your INST pgm to DRUM pgm if you really need some features.
