OK.... I have the MPC 2500 with JJ OS2xl (latest version installed) and my problem is the pads are waaay too sensitive. I looked at the jj manual and followed their recommendations but it just still seems off. I was wondering is there some type of default settings I could set to get the velocity to be just like on the akai os??? I already messed around with the "pad on" and all that other stuff jj talked about. Please help... thnx ahead of time!!!

I'm not really sure what could be the problem, in fact at default settings most people say the pads aren't sensitive enough. Mode -> Other -> F4, both velocity and sensitivity have a setting all the way to 25. What's yours at? I was going to say it could be a physical defect with your unit but if it works fine with default OS then that is unlikely.

do not get your knickers twisted if someone doesn't answer your question right away. this subforum is one of the most legendary, inventive, and helpful communities for ANY hardware, so being rude is just in poor taste.

you are among gentlemen, sir. behave as such.

sensitivity can refer to a couple of things. when you explain your issue, be as detailed as possible. you could be experiencing one of the three things:

1- ghost notes. are you triggering multiple pads at low velocity even when you're just hitting one? do you trigger pads if you press on the metal grid in between the pads? if so, you need to raise your PAD ON level. i leave mine at 16, i think.

2- overly sensitive velocity settings. decrease the top row to taste.

3- your curve isn't to your liking. adjust your curve (mine is A) and see issue 2.

i doubt it's a hardware issue. more details would clarify this.

You may also want to try resetting the Mp. (Dont know what else to call it.) Turn the Mp on while holding the ERASE button. This kind off shakes off any bugs from re-upping the OS. You may want to save the settings you have before doing this though. Good luck
