When recording in multi-timbral mode, all the tracks record simultaneously. I'd like to only record on one track, even if it's the currently selected track. Do you have any ideas how I can do this? The MIDI IN must play through the non-recording tracks/channels.

Thanks.

maybe this work-around will help ya:

record the sequence in multi-timbral mode,

then SOLO the track that you need or mute all the others,

go to SONG mode and make a new sequence.

This much faster than deleting all the unwanted tracks.

No MPC in front of me at the moment and I haven't had the chance to test multitimbral mode much yet, so this is more of a question -- what effect does the "active track receive channel" setting have in this mode?

When multi-timbral mode is off, it allows you to select which MIDI IN channels will be recognized by the active track.

Astro - Good fall-back plan.. you can also Solo the active track to effectively bypass the multi-timbral function. Not what I'm hoping for, but work-around ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Uh yes I was aware of that but my question was...

Oh nevermind I'll just try it myself.

Sorry. It disappears when multi-timbral is turned on and is replaced by MIDI IN 2 offset.
