we can see a file of a second = 44100 end point, that's ok.
his name is: 1

I want to copy, copy, copy ... for my own checks.

the following file generated with the function A + B combine, the result is the file named: 2, equivalent to 2 seconds 88200 points, that's ok.

I copied this result by itself ( all times ).
the result is the file named: 4 (4 seconds) ok? ok ....
continue copying the result for itself .....

and come to a time when I want more memory, as shown in the video.
to then continue copying, copying, copying ...

and .... we come to another time when the mpc jumps with unexpected blackout, no messages memory full or anything like that.

* pressing the main button, blackout, blackout, blackout ....

So on one side.

on the other side.

we see that the MPC2500 has 8 box to write possible endpoints value, in trim, of course:

this could be something like:

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

or maximum value that could be written:

9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9

but unfortunately, we can never enter that value.

observe the math.

99999999 (maximun value)
divided for 44100 = 2267,5736734693877551020408163265 ( seconds )
divided for 60 = 37,792894557823129251700680272109 ( minutes )

is not possible, never!!!!!

now, in S-PAIN-ish

is not possible, never!!!!!

can you learn me 28 minutes sampling time please?
thanks mikolo!!!

now,
here,
THE BETATESTER SAY:

my value maximum for end point = 60553708 points

can you see this video please? thanks.

and the yours?

what is your maximum value for end point?

thanks for all your atention.

Not being able to get to 99999999 samples per sound isn't a big deal in itself. It's been well established that sampling time is dependent on several factors which include the amount of memory your programs, sequences, samples, etc, take up. Not to mention if samples are in stereo or mono and how much ram is available in the first place.

What is troubling is that the combine function in trim mode doesn't seem to check for available memory, which seems to make the machine malfunction. If I were doing something that required me to use the combine function, and then lost my work because neither me or the machine was keeping track of available memory, I would be pissed.

I've checked the MPC - 128 mb is actually 22mins 52 secs mono (11mins 26 secs stereo) , so apologies my memory was a little out. Press 'window' in record mode to see the sampling time.

22mins 52 secs = 1372 secs
1372*44100= 60505200 samples

which is close to your maximum value.

Valid point that combine should check available ram, but otherwise: "What is this I don't even"
