i read somewhere here that the safest way to save was to SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY
which is what iv been doing up to now
last night i saved a project into a file with some other projects and it seems to have wiped all the sequence data in the projects that were all ready in those files and replaced them with blank sequences with the same name as the last sequence i used in the last project that i saved. it has also replaced alot of the original program names with the program name of the last program i was using.
all the samples that were in the old projects are still there so all is not lost i suppose but still gutting to lose all that work.
i was able to recreate the scrambleing by just saving a blank project file in the same folder, all the sequence names and BPM and programs names in the old projects were changed to the the same as the last project saved in that folder!
it dosent do it if i saved to a separate folder so now im thinking
. ONLY ONE PROJECT TO A FOLDER! is this right? seems strange, as before the scrambeling happend i had 3 or 4 projects sitting happily in that folder not inseminating there file names into one and other.
i guess what im asking is has this been happening to anyone else?
do i have a problem with my software or hd?
is this important-ONLY ONE PROJECT TO A FOLDER!?
is there anything esle i need to know about saving to avoid losing work?
thanks in advance for any insight.
even if its just that you had the same problem.
cheers
