I have a couple of ideas for some new workflow shortcuts and wondered if you guys had any input.

First off I'd really like to copy banks within GPE. For example whilst holding bank A press bank B - up pops a window copy "Copy Bank A to Bank B?" I've been messing around with pgm's recently and this would save so much time. An optional pgm field in that pop up window could copy the bank to the different PGM too.

Second idea - and I got this idea from messing with Maschine actually - would be track volume shortcuts, and bank volume shortcuts. Hold track mute key down and move Q link 1 - track volume increases/decreases and the focus remains on the main screen. Hold Bank A move Q link 1 - the pad bank volume goes up/down. The second Q link could function in a similar way for effect send or pan.

i love the first.

i've also wanted like an option to quickly duplicate a set of assigned samples, so that you can set different loop settings on identical samples...i'd do a lot more mangling if i could do that quicker.

Yeah I remember you saying that - that would be really, really useful for loops.
I would use a bank copy feature extensively - the levels things was just a case of "oh thats pretty cool" when playing with Maschine.

I've had a lot more time for the MPC and music in general over this last couple of weeks, so I'm feeling pretty inspired - 2xl has so much creative potential as it is.

+1 on that. i'd love it if this option would copy them to a new program as well so they all retain their pad assignments.

so in 1 step you would have the samples all duplicated to a new program (identical to the one you're copying from), ready for you to set new loop settings in trim. that way you could switch back and forth between old & new loop settings just by switching to a new program.

...of course, it would be even better if all the loop settings were stored in the PROGRAM itself. you could set them up in the TRIM screen, and then go to the PROGRAM screen and the settings would also be displayed (and adjusted) there: sample start, end, loop start, end... etc... that way you wouldn't have to duplicate the samples at all.

i'm pretty sure i requested this of JJ back in the day. nothing ever came of it. might be time for a new request.

yeah that'd be the ideal solution, for sure...the true request. i tailored my request to presumably be easier, but ... yeah. that's what i'm getting at.

A good one, +1, something I would use a lot.

The mpc500 can do this LOL!
