I have myself to thank for this one! I recently reported a bug regarding the midi wait feature. If I had count in off, I could still hear my metronome beep sample when I went into midi wait record. This was actually great - I could decide at the moment whether I wanted to hear a count in or not just by hitting stop and overdub. This became essential for the way I use my MPC at gigs- I could have a click when i start a track and using stop/record/playstart macros (with simult pads) i was able to do some cool stuff during the track (e.g.instant record from a stopped tarck without a count in)

I recently reported a tiny bug which was causing the metronome to start a beat later when click=off. I was expecting MIDI wait to overide the count in settings and start a metronome immediately when you hit the stop/overdub combo. JJ has corrected this bug by disabling the click sound altogether when you use midi wait with the count in set to off. This is actually quite logical when you think about it ...but the old way was actually really useful (despite the slight delay in the metronome start).

What do you guys reckon about the new 'wait' behaviour? It's making me want a third option adding to the screen e.g:

count in:
rec: off/on play: off/on midi wait off/on
