Organizing multiple songs into a live set

I'm trying to think of the most painless way to combine multiple projects into one live set.

As it stands I have around 10 songs on the MPC. I have saved each one in its own folder using the save entire memory command. Each song has its own program, sequences, etc. While practicing I just turn the MPC off and then on again to clear the memory and load a new song. I need to figure out a better way to have everything ready to go on stage.

What is the best way to organize multiple songs in this way?

Also: Are there any explanations of what each file is when I save the entire memory? I know what samples and programs are obviously but what abouta project file or all the other cryptic files that show up.

Loading a new project should clear the mpc memory. Though if I've been flicking around working on different songs - then I hit 'save entire memory' - I can often end up with unwanted samples or programs in my project. So I check thru everything before going off to play...

I cover gaps on stage with some kind of audio from my phone running thru the audio input (input thru) which can play while the mpc is busy loading from hard disk.

I'm having the same curiosity because I am trying to incorporate dj'ing mp3s with live playing and mpc sequences....

the best i could think of is something basic, like making a few basic beat sequences and saving them all on the same project, but nothing towards what you are implying which would be nice.

any ideas please do tell

If you do a search you will see it has been discussed before. I will give you the low down for sets with a few different projects.

OK you are on the right track to make every program a different name as you can not load two the same name. So if the kits are different in any way it has to be renamed - preferably to something identifying the related song for neat work practices and easy reference.
Next it is the same with the sample names. You can not have two different programs with two samples that are different with same name. sure a program can share samples, but of course you want programs to keep the right sample and not replace with same named one, so yeah make sure unique names for every sample. This gets rid of any conflicts.
Next is to make sure you have you FX named as well. And while you are at it name the sequences to. It will take a few minutes, but will pay off in the long run, when it makes everything much more clear.
The next bit is about loading you sequences and FX. You have not been reading the manual ...... Highlight ALL_SE&SONGS, then hit F6 [DO IT]. This will bring up a choice of sequence or FX. Do both for each song. Load into where you want it. Use sequencer to automate FX changes on song change over and make sure you assign PC numbers to programs if you want to automate chages to drum programs. Easy see
