pitch bend sensitivity doesnt seem to make sense... if i just press a pad and move the wheel on an external keyboard, then i need to have sensitivity set to +/-1 to hear an octave bend... but if i record that and play it back, its now only 1 semitone... can anyone explain what is going on there? the manual page was not so clear.

let me spell it out for you. if it is set to 1, i hear a pitch bend of one octave when i move the wheel to its max and i hit the pad. this is with the sequencer stopped, playing, recording or overdubbing. When i then play back the recorded data, i now hear 1 semitone of a bend (as expected, sorta), and i need to set it then to 12 to hear theoctave bend as i originally played it. now if i press the pad and move the wheel it will pitch several octaves (hitting the limits of the mpc bend range i suppose).
from this, i can conclude that the pitch bend sensitivity is measured (incorrectly) in octaves at all timed, until playing back recorded pitchbend info, at which point it is measured in semitones.

anyone else got this problem?
