MPC 1000 GLITCH IN PROGRAM MODE

Im having a really irritating problem with my mpc 1000. when in program mode, i move over to the TUNE field and i change the tune level to whatever i want but more often than not when i do this the numbers go all haywire and increase all the way up to "+36.00". all by itself. ghost in the machine? i have the mpc routed with midi going in from a kms-30 that has my 606 as the master. my mpc also has midi running out to an external synth that i sequence with it.

if anyone can offer a solution/cause/etc i would be grateful. thank you for your time.

it helps to state the OS you're using, but if you're using os2xl, it sounds like you have a broken qlink slider.
