Whats up everybody I recently bought a used mpc 1000 (the blue one) and its memory card slot has a few broken pins. I installed an 80gb hard drive and put the free jj os bin file on the drive via usb. When i try to load the bin file nothing happens (when i press the 'do it' button). Am i shit outta luck? i'll probably sell my mpc if i'm stuck with OS 1.07

Thank you,
James

I don't really know if you can load it from the hard drive. Maybe somebody else will. I'm surprised at the cost of the part though. $125 is pricey.

I would try to install the 2.13 akai os before, and reformat your drive with it.

The firsts akai os couldn't format correctly big hard drives.

And if you can install it , format your drive with jj os after.

I think you can load from HD. This is old way of upgrading.

Put this *.bin file on root of hard drive (not in folder, just after the letter D, E whatever). Just put ONE bin file, not few.
Now, turn off MPC. Push and hold WINDOW key, while you power on again. Hold WINDOW until you see something unusual (it will look for the os). Read the instructions carrefully. I don't remember, it ask do you want to change os on new or smth like that. Read before you push yes or no.
