can i automate effects/a filter jjos2xl?

i wanted to see if i could automate the LPF value of a track in jjos2xl. ie, assign it to a track, then steadily decrease it over the duration of 4 bars. i did a quick search and didnt come up with much. is this possible?

if it is, is there also a way to set it to effect all the tracks at once? ie, assign the filter to the whole sequence or something?

the reason i want to do it to the whole sequence and not a single pad, is because i want to assign it to my main chops of my song.

this will get you started:

1. change track type to MIDI (can change from DRUM to MIDI & back again without problems so don't worry about that).

2. goto GRID EDIT & press SHIFT + F1

U can:

1. Main screen Q-link LPF-filter (this is for the selected track affects the track).
or
2. Midi CC#74. This requires you to set up LPF to your program, but this way you can have it affect desired pads on desired tracks.

i cant get it to work, ive gotten it to do pitch bend on the mod wheel param, but dont know how to assign it to the lpf.

i see plenty of blank paramaters (cc's?) to choose from but i cant seem to assign them to anything?
12 is effect 1
13 is effect 2
14 and 15 are blank, so i assume you can edit these to any parameter you want somehow?

when i go to the program page, then go to the fx section, i see it says midi-cc to fx2 edit:off, so i figure if i turn this on in gpe, then go back into the midi control page and set it to 13 (effect 2) i should be able to automate my reverb, but this isnt the case.
furthermore, how can i set it to the lpf if its an insert effect on each pad instead of in the fx section?

seems like number 1 would be easiest.

when i go to midi cc#74 it says brightness. could you elaborate on this a bit more please?

Here's a cheatsheet for common midi-CC's.

#01 => Modulation wheel
#02 or 74 => Filter Cutoff
#07 => Volume
#10 => Pan
#71 => Filter resonance
#91 => FX send

Note that you might not hear anything realtime if you're not actually using an external midi controller. If you don't have such, just record it to your track and play it to hear the effect.

Some of those are affecting track mixer (turn MIDI:ON from track mixer) and depend on the midi channel (1-16) of the controller sending these CC's.

cool, will try it out i dont have a midi controller, so that explains why i couldnt hear the pitch bend while recording.

thanks for the replies guys, i was working on another beat today and realized i never got this to work correctly before, but today i finally got it to work in a different application. this time instead of a filter i was using it to make a pitched snare roll. this time i assigned tune to a pad instead of to the whole track, and recorded some pitching down. im pretty proud of myself i finally got it to work! so im gonna try the filter thing pr track again next time, maybe it will work now!
