what is the best manual available for jjosxl

is there one written by an english speaker? no offense, jj! is there one in japanese? maybe i can have it translated...

hmm cool im looking for a comprehensive reference i guess. are there any translated versions that have details of midi implementation and other osxl features? i know how to chop. thanks tho

there's not much to internal sampler:

#01 => Modulation wheel
#02 or 74 => Filter Cutoff
#07 => Volume
#10 => Pan
#71 => Filter resonance
#91 => FX send
Pitchbend
Program Change

as far as controlling other gear it receives/records/sends all CCs and other stuff

Also, didn't know that FX send (guessing send amount?) is supported, will be useful for sure!

MPCtutor should be the one who could make a real manual happen - I wouldn't mind paying for one if such a thing existed..

The manual on JJ's website is available as a pdf... quite handy to have as a reference point tho.

Probably want to check out the contents page, there's quite a bit more to the book than 'press CHOP. The end', it's teaching you how to use chopping to be creative, I.e building multisampled finger drumming kits, building songs and along the way teaching you all the different features found within drum and inst programs, sample edit etc. so basically chopping is the core centrepiece that enables me to teach many other aspects of jjosxl.

My books aren't really technical reference manuals, they are hands on, practical teaching guides.

But MIDI isn't covered in this book, that'll be something for a potential second book with a strong sequencing focus.

im interested in using my mpc as a sound device from another hardware sequencer as well as learning as much as i can about its internal capabilities.

Like pitch which you set in mpc -12/+12 semitones to respond to PB
modwheel is just adding some vibration..

ok, thanks for this, will try. So far I've always had to spend a Qlink to set the drum sound pitches - If this works I'll have another Qlink to use on something else!

And this new book on MIDI sounds good MPCtutor!

yep it works the same as from q-link and there is somewhere PB sensivity screen where you can define it for each of 16tracks
