Anyone know how to adjust the qlinks for trimming?

Heck if I can afford access to an SP these days (I got lucky at the time), but the concept is simple.

Fader 1: Large, from front to back.

Fader 2: Fine, increments.

Ergo: 1... 2!

Holding the repeat button on the SP while you moved the slider made the edit point repeat,
so that you could hear it snap when it was on target/the 1.

Admittedly the SP was a 2 bar sample,
but I dont see why the concept should be any different.

In OS2XL it seems to work like this :

-AFTER button to turn the Q links ON/OFF
-Qlink1 for Start point
-Qlink2 for End point

What do you think if for instance holding tap tempo (mpc1000) would allow the faders to move in smallers increments?

Do you have the need to hear the start point repeating? (like when we hold a pad and we slowly move the data wheel)

Pretty hard to move a fader and hold a pad and tap tempo for a right-handed guy.

I am patiently waiting for exactly this feature. Technically it shouldn't be difficult to implement.

It can't be exactly like the SP because those sliders were tuned for the 10s sample time. The length of a sample in the MPC can vary dramatically so the sliders can't be fixed. IMHO there are 2 proper ways to do this:

1) the step size of the q-links controlled by the min/max knobs above the sliders on the 2500, or with the jog wheel on the 1000.

2) the step size of the q-links controlled by the zoom

I will happily pay extra for this feature because I chop samples like crazy and the only reason I use hardware nowadays is for comfort/workflow reasons. Computers can do everything better but its not as comfortable when you can't rely on muscle memory.

Yeah I think it would be the best solution.
Adding another shortcut is not a good idea finally because of the different buttons layout.

Another problem is look how trim mode is **** up in OS3. If it's linked to the zoom level, it will be quickly unusable. Could be good for 128XL though.
