Any way to use track mute to erase parts of a track?

So I have a drum track. I recorded muting/unmuting the track on the track mute screen to make it a little more sparse and love how it turned out. My question is, is there a way to record the track with the mute/unmute info to a new track?

To make it more clear, I think what I want is for some way to erase the drums that are playing when the track is muted. So basically is there a way to use the track mute to erase parts of a track? I would just do it manually but the track mute is pretty sporadic and it would be hard to replicate exactly.

Use the step sequencer after copying the track. Then edit it. you will see that the MUTE EVENT is in the sequencer. So after every mute event just erase. Hold down shift to select more than one event. Simple

2nd is to press rec+play on a track where mutes come in, or use over dub + erase

3rd but it needs os2xl or higher with multi timbral input, is to route MIDI out to MIDI in, and it will pass just unmuted notes (without mute events) to another tack. This could be handy with very busy track, that would take too much time doing manually. Never thought about that before, but just checked and it works.

ahh dope I am on Os2XL. that sounds exactly like what I wanted to do, I'll try to figure it out today.

It's simple: plug in cable from MIDI OUT to IN, in mode 9 set multi ON, soft thru OFF.
Than on a track with mutes you want to send, you need to select destination tack 1-16 i.e. 1A. Than just hit over dub + play and it will record on track 1.

pretty nice 'outside the box' solution (pun intended)

Also the SONG mode can be used for that, and it's even simplier.

Create a song with the sequence you got your mutes on-going and convert it to a new sequence without ignoring the track-mutes (there's an option for it, expressly designed to do this job).

BAAM!

The track will be rewritten accordingly to your track-mutes. No cables, no midi, no new tracks.
