Q-Link being strange

Hi I've already posted this is the mpc1000 area but I thought I should post it here as I'm using JJ033XLCD and this could be an OS issue….

I've noticed that on the values on the bottom Q-Link kind of flutter around and only go from say -78 to +90 as oppose to how it should be at -120 and +120.

I've had the unit in bits, given it a spray out to get rid of any dust, I took the 4 pin connector out of the Q-Link board and bent the pins ever so slightly so that they make as much contact with the connection as possible. I've also tried holding erase, switching off the unit and holding erase while switching it back on.

Does anyone else have any other tips or has anyone else noticed this with jjos3xlcd?

Is the range of the faders in qlink parameter window set to a range instead of full?
It actually sounds like Qlink failure behaviour to me though, but check hte Qlink range settings first. If its not that then it sounds like it is failing and no amount of spray will save it.

Thanks for the advise bliprock but I already tried that an yeah it's set to full.

Ok if it's failing I might put the big screen in a 2500 and put the old screen back in the 1000 an sell it stating that it's got a broken q-link.

Do you know if the xlcd screen is the same for the 1000 an 2500?

I know I could just put a new q link in the 1000 but to the honest I'm starting to miss using the numeric buttons instead of
Mode+pad.

well the OS that comes with the screen will be different for different machines, but you will have to ask MPCstuff maybe in case there is a hardware difference. I only know the OS is slightly different and you need the right OS.
