Freeing Recording Time/ Work Flow/ Sample list vs CF Card Sa

1. What's the easiest way to free recording time without shutting the MPC off.

2. Will deleting samples from the sample list delete samples that have been saved on the CF card?

3. I'm trying to structure my work flow. When a project is done do most people shut the MPC off then back on or is there a more suitable way to transition to the next project your working on.
