Can track parameters be registered in patterns?

Basically, I've been trying to store track parameter changes (LPF cutoff, Volume, Pan) in patterns. I record them to the track using the Q-link, then convert the track to a pattern but when I hit the pad to play the pattern, I only hear the samples being played back normally.

So is it actually possible to put non-note events in a pattern? My idea was to assign a volume dip for the current track to a pattern so that I could emulate sidechaining.

I'm not 100% sure how patterns work, so that might still not be possible.
