For quite a while I have been using the MPC 1000/JJOS2XL as midi master, sequencer, etc.

But I remembered having also a Roland SP 404 in its box somewhere (the older silver version, not the SP 404 SX).
And then I wondered: in what ways could I use the SP 404 with the MPC ? What would the SP 404 bring to the MPC ?

In other words, as long as I use MPC 1000, should I consider the SP 404 as "not needed" or are there things I could do with the SP 404 that would add or contribute to the MPC ?? :hmmm:

yeah they are made for each other - The SP fx are very nice to run the MPC thru. Can load & play really long samples that don't fit into the MPC. Also handy to keep playing something over the gap when you have to load a new pgm/song when you are playing live :)

I had an SP606 with dual effect processors but now have a 404sx
