hey there Sensei JJ.
First of all, let me say THANK YOU for your continued dedication to this heritage of MPCs.
I am a drummer, using my MPC1000 to expand my live playing.
- use drum-trigger/MIDI coverter to add electronic layer to live playing
- hit pads for noise, samples, etc.
- program some loops or melodies
I got my first MPC1000, then got the JJOS, and used it long enough to repair buttons and pads.
Sold it (stupidly) for newer, more specialized gear.
10 year later..Now that I need a "electronic music mulit-tool"
Ive bought an MPC1k again (that luckily already had JJOS on it).
10 years after my initial run, I am SO IMPRESSED to see such continued innovation and progress.
The logic is familiar, and the new/additional features are (even more) intuitive.
Now, as a drummer, I have my hands full of sticks... so I rely on both FootSwitches.
I REALLY like that you've added the option for one switch to alternate between "Stop/(Re)Start"
...but sometimes I miss- or false-trigger my foot-switch, and the electronic beats go wrong.
Got the idea that it might help if the FootSwitch(es) could have option for Momentary / NoteOn like action for (most) selected options.
...obviously wouldn't work directly for "Tap" (which is about timing)
or "Repeat" (which is already Momentary).
Like for "Start/Stop".. the Transport only runs while the pedal is held down.
For the specific ways I perform w/ MPC, this would be helpful, if not safer, way to control the MPC while playing live drums.
A "Momentary Overdub" could allow for more quick/precise/lazy punch-in editing, by feel rather than looking at light.
This may impose a "pedal up -> stop" behavior for other modes like "Play", or "Play/Start" or "Rec+Play"
Let me know what you think.
Cheers !
