Just got 1000 / OS3 Question

wuts up guys, just got a 1000 yesterday $550 used, still in package with case, etc... So far I'm liking it. own a 2000XL still so its just getting used to the work around. I just downloading the new OS3 on it, but I have question. I never put a password in or bought the password off paypal and the OS is still working and saving fine. Am I missing something, I feel like I have to do something. Thanks Ya'll

OS 3 is free with no restrictions on saving, as to where OS 4 requires you to pay for a password in order to save your work and give you even more added features.
