I know this may sound kinda odd, but while we all use our MPC 1000 some of us who are truly portable at times would like to be able to have entire WAV's of songs loaded, with transport controls so you can rewind, fastfoward, play and stop songs. This would eliminatie the need for me to use my laptop as storage for songs I have yet to chop up. You preview the sample from the hardrive and have all the transports on the screen. These days a mono song is around 30mb, but with most of us having 100Gig HD in our MPC's this would be a lovley addition to use all that space for.

in my setup the mpc is the master. i actually swapped out the 60gb hd in my mpc for the 100gb hd in my laptop. i edit everything using the laptop from the mpc's hard drive. i keep samples i haven't reviewed and a huge unorganized mess on my laptop and on the mpc is where i keep the gems. i use the built in backup utility in windows to do a backup of my mpc hd every once in a while. it takes forever to do it the first time, but after that you can update based on new files/moved files etc.

p.s. the sample has to be triggered to sound therefore you can't use the transport controls to navigate the actual audio of the song. sucks i know.
