transition from 2.10

hello.. i have decided to install jj os.

when i installed 2.10 for 1.7 i had problems with volume levels... is this known to happen when making the transition from 2.10 to jj? or are there any other potential problems?

What made me a little confused after upgrading from 2.1 to 4.15 is that some pre JJ sampled sounds had a click (middle-of-wave-not-zero-crossing-style) in the begining. I always edit my samples with care, but mostly by ear if there are no specific oddities, so this problem made me rather disturbed.
After asking on the forums I was informed that JJ has removed a tiny, tiny attack envelope that was ever present in the Akai OS, thus making some start points sounding clean with the Akai attack applied click with the JJ.
To make those samples usable again, just adjust the start point a few samples or apply an attack of 1 or 2 in the program and your good to go.

or in global param, give the entire pgm an attack of 1-3 to smooth things out. i'm very glad jj took out akai's autoattack thing, that was a terrible idea. it's like when microsoft ultrasimplifies a function in windows so that old/unskilled people can use it more easily while the more technologically advanced people get the finger.

ooh yes another valid point in jjs favor, i HATE routines like this that colour your mix. i would much rather line up the zero crossing than potentially mess with my transients across the mix! i would like to remain in control of my own transients thank you jj!
