BlueBox MPC 1000 Program Creator

Not too familiar with either of these. Can anyone tell me more about them & which they like bette & why? Are they PC versions of MpcPgmMkr?

i used to love bluebox
but NOW i create all my programs from within the mpc.
now that we can scroll w/ NOTE REPEAT to make sample scrolling a lot faster from within the mpc, making programs is really really fast. not to mention the option to load samples onto sequential pads

so unless you're just dumping a ton of samples onto pads i'd say use the mpc itself
but otherwise, bluebox is a solid program. meant more for os 1.07, but still a great program. too bad it was discontinued.

I want to chop in Recycle on my PC then dump the chops easiest into my MPC. Isn't it easier to do that from one of those programs like BlueBox?

i didn't notice that. shift works too, which is what i've been using, i wonder why he made two modifier keys for the same purpose?

I found the blue box to be waste of time- too many errors, making with MPC works better for me.

depends on what you're doing. are you just literally dumping them into a pgm 1 per pad, or are you using velocity layers? if you're doing the former, bluebox is faster since you're alraedy in the computer (but you'll have to go through the pgm in the mpc and turn the level up to 100). if you're doing the latter, use the mpc, it's much faster. bluebox is too much clicking and dragging for making anything other than first level, bulk load pgms.

although i agree that the mpc is better to make pgms in now, bluebox never gave me errors. the main issue is that most people's samples loaded from other apps such as recycle all have a default midi note of 60, which cause the pgm to freak out. all you have to do in bluebox is go to "make pads chromatic" and that takes care of all problems.

i did a small bit of beta testing for bluebox (very small) and found the program very enjoyable and wax a good coder. it's unfortunate that we lost him, otherwise i bet he could have done some seriously amazing things with pgms, seqs and prj files
