Live looping on an MPC1000 ? OS written by jj

problem is the latency is very bad for software loopers on laptops. if your trying to do time based accurate music. fine if your doing free form stuff without beats. where as hardware based loopers are much more accurate.

I'd easily pay 200$ for this. I've been looking to replace ableton Live with a solid hardware box for too long now. It's like the perfect workflow and it seems that manufactures still can't understand it.

I'm actually looking at a MPC1000 or MV-8800 to see if they can do this. I was hoping that this JJ os would do it but apparently it's still not there.

All it needs is to wait until the beginning of the sequence to start recording, stop recording at the number of measures you specify and automatically loop it until the end of the sequence.

Honestly, I'd pay 200$ for this.

Also, I'm new to this JJ thing. I had a MPC2000XL a long time ago and I've been out of the MPC game. I must say that what the music world needs is 100x more JJ's.

It's incredible how a single man operation could do more for the development of a product in one year than a huge multi national corporation could do in 10.

Tinkering with my old vinyl last night, with the audio thru you've got pitch shift and effect control, my Q is can you use these features of audio thru while in the main screen with a sequence playing?

While this idea definately sounds really cool, I'm still curious. Why would you guys want to even try to record the beat out, live? I could see with just about every other element of a song, but it seems like it would be best to even have a basic backbeat or something down before ya started trying to loop over it(if for anything, if you had some complex phrase you wanted to base a song off or something, that you'd have that already done and wouldn't have to pray you played right, on the spot).

Is it just for the sake of doing it all, then and there? Is it 'cause you guys are improving every thing and not even trying to replicate some previous idea, from scratch?

Most of the built-from-nothing loop-based music I've heard suffers from sounding really redundant pretty quickly(because the artist winds up looping the same kinda stuff on every song, doesn't change up instruments and sound sources, etc.). Would be great to get these kinds of options w/an MPC though, and have all my samples available, would be easier to avoid
