Sync Issue with Cubase SX

Hi!

I'm trying to record in Cubase some BARS from my mpc (only MIDI)

I followed the instructions from JJOS manual, but I've got some troubles:

When i activate the sync button in cubase's transport panel and press record, it says "Idle" and nothing happens, if I turn Sync off and press record I got a part of the BAR recorded (incomplete, missing the first kicks) and the notes are not synchronized well (in the mpc the position is 01.04.00 and in cubase 01.04.68).

I've tried Midi Clock Option in the MPC and it's set as slave.

I've got a RME Hammerfall Multiface soundcard and Cubase SX v3.1.1

Look at sparqs video's. The one called track and sync. It's not for jjos, but you can figure it ot by watching it. It's close enough. It got me working in nuendo.

Thx for the link, I just watched the video but this is about how to record audio into a DAW. I'm interested to record midi.

I don't understand why the recording is not accurate at all and the Sync button but doesn't work like described in the JJOS manual.

The only way I get it to work is using the internal sync option from cubase, but not really synchronized.

I just exported the sequence as midi file and imported it to cubase.

The beat matches on all positions, it seems to be a synchronization issue between the MPC and Cubase.

I'm interested in record midi, but it also affects the people who wants to record audio, because if the midi is not synchronizated the audio also not.

Maybe it's not really audible and it's nice, as a kind of swing quantization, but it could cause trouble on further operations in Cubase.

When i track into cubase i set mpc as the master with mtc, never had problems. (you have to insert an empty bar in the beginning becaus cubase needs 1 second to catch upo with the recording)

You set mpc as master?

Cubase is not able to work as slave. Is it possible to have both set up as master on mtc?

No, cubase wont work as slave in midi clock mode, with mtc it works fine (sx 2)

It seems to work, but some notes still are out of sync.

The Bass Drums are in place, but the snares are not.

In the MPC they are all in the right positions, also when I import the sequence as midi file in cubase
