@ electric muz, i've never done a reset, i think you only need to between jjos and akai os. i've only used jjos, so this is why i've never needed to reset.

I've seen reports of wonkiness with upgrades regardless of the OS version. The fact is, you don't know and it's more of a "better safe than sorry" approach. It may be possible that errors occur because of the upgrade process itself and the residual "gunk" needs to be cleared out after the process is complete.

Most studio people I know who run multiple boxes of this type consider a reset after upgrade to be standard procedure. I do the same thing with all my other boxes as well (and have also experienced errors on those boxes if I don't do it): it's not an issue that's confined only to MPCs

Anyway, it's not like it's a major pain to do a reset.. esp when the upgrade doesn't retain saved parameters from the last install...

that's strange, on all updates, mine has saved that the autoload feature was switched off. i only noticed because i went back to 3.06 the other day, which didn't save that.

That is strange, mine always resets to internal (which is annoying since I never saved over the Akai factory crud).
