mpc 1000, jjos and Ableton Live 6

ANyone here track out thier beats to ableton? IF so PM me, i got a few questions.....the only hardware ive ever used really is Adobe Audition. which is very diff from this

I do my breaks and beats with mpc and then bounce 'em to Live where I'll layer, sequence and finish the track properly...

...could the conversation be public so other users might benefit from the info (if I can even answer to your question )?

do a search, i have tutorials on how to do this.

Basically tryna figure out how to sync it up the right way. I been doin the lessons but i dont know how to set it up right and figured if some1 here doing it already the maybe could help. Dont know if this is some basic shit or mad settings to change....i havent tracked shit on sofware b4.

The only way i got this to work is by midi clock, mpc as master, ableton as slave. Go to preferences and -> midi/sync and activate sync, track and remote for the midi input connected, on the mpc activate midi clock out. Then you only have to click the "ext" field top left in ableton to make it wait for the clock.

I use Live as a glorified multi-track recorder. It's the only piece of the puzzle that I don't have a hardware equivalent (unless you count the SP-808 which has a simple four-track). I slave the MPC to Live. At the moment, I can record 20 tracks at once into Live using my Creamware Pulsar II.

Sync the clocks, hit the metronome on both ableton and the mpc. line them up using the latency delay found at the bottom of the faders in arrangement view (mine's at like -12 ms). turn off the metronomes and track away!

me too. it's sick for plug and play like that.

So when you are slaving your mpc to live are you first recording songs/pattterns into Live from your mpc then using midi time code to sync up the recorded audio in live to new stuff on the mpc? Or are you just layering as stated by M.T.C. If Mission and Chisel don't mind going a little more in depth on the process. I would like to use Live as a multitrack as well with my new firewire board. All tips are well appreciated! I have a lot of midi keyboards/modules whats the best way to record these in conjunction with the mpc into Live? Sorry for the newb ?'s

I always use Live to timestretch troublesome loops..say for instance a 2bar loop I use the "complex" warp mode and time correct everything the way i want it..thatll say not so much that it looses its funk ifyaknoumsayin..then i put the loop in the arrangement window and start rendering ..say like every
1/4..Transfering it to the MPC and start fooling around..I Luv It!
