From the MPC1000 JJ OS Faq...

30-MAR-2007
<<<<<<<< Information >>>>>>>>
OS memory has filled.
Only 896Kbytes can be written in although it thought that
there was 960Kbytes of memory area for OS.
This caused the trouble of OS V4.52 writing.

It became impossible therefore, to add a big function more.
A small change, an addition, and correction of a bug are continued from now on.

Q: [mode] PROGRAM >> LFO >> negative values possible? for Pitch & Filter 1/2
Amp Envelope >> negatives/invert values for "velo -> start" ?
Filter Envelope >> negatives/invert values for "velo -> freq"?

A: Impossible, since OS memory is filled.
The addition of a function cannot be performed.

is this true for the 2500 as well? i'm seriously thinking about droppin my hardearned dollar on JJ, but i am curious if more significant improvements will happen.

i know its already pretty amazing now, but have they pushed the limits of the OS to the max already? i feel like a lot of requests people have just can't be implemented because of the chipset or whatever internal barriers. and now its just bug fixes and smoothing out what's already there.

i'll probably still cop JJ's version, but what do y'all think? or has JJ found a way around the 896k barrier yet?

(maybe it'll be like the old days with the OS on a floppy!)

it sounds like 960k is the upper limit, which 957 fits just barely under. i guess we'll really know that the 2500 does have that problem if we see an OS that's over 960...

d'ya think that'll happen?
