Yes. Completely.


It works as a dual boot system. You can boot into Apples OS for viewing movies and stuff, and Rockbox for all the good stuff. All drag and drop.

that makes ipods more considerable
i avoided them like the plague because i think itunes is the devil

Unless you get a second generation Nano that is.

I bought the 2nd gen. the week it came out because I had just learned about Rockbox and decided that with Rockbox the Nano would be an awesome player

Well - turns out they used a different encryption on the chip from the other ipods and it has yet to be cracked, so no Rockbox for me

Ahhh I didnt know that.

They had the same problem with the 80gb Ipod video. For some reason they thought it would be impossible to port it because the instruction set was so different to something like that.

They just came out with a working version for the 80gb. Keep checking back, they have a pretty incredible team of developers, for a product that is free thats pretty impressive.
