with normal 16 levels tuning its the same as speeding up or slowing down a record. the pitch goes up/down but so will the speed as well.

i think you want to look into is patchphrase mode. i personally never use it but i think thats what you are looking for.

watch this video. even though he is using a 2500 its the same on the 1000.

Time sig? You mean tempo? The time sig is detemined by the artist when they record the song.

Just FYI

ok basicly i want to have 16 levels but not loose tempo in the sample i want the tempo to stay the same but move up and down keys if this is possible patchphrase is cool bu im not sure if you can do 1 note think it has to be a loop doesnt it..

you can't use 16 levels to this effect without chopping the sample into a pp, but at that point you may as well chop it to a new program.

but you cant pp a sinlge hit can you?

oh you're not trying to do this to a phrase sample are you? just a single hit?

yeah. aside from pitch shifting the note 16 or more times, you're not gonna be able to do what you're looking for.

advice - make an autochromatic pgm, set all to NOTE ON, set the decay to 50, and tap away. this will at least make them play at the same length

autochromatic pgm think i stumbled across this just now but not understanding how do use it can you tell me how to do this please

i'm afraid this is the point where i politely direct you to trial and error/a session with the manual.

16 Levels is usualy directed to use with samples without the restriction of tempo.

A few examples being perhaps a piano chord, your an orchestral hit, that you can play up and down the pads.

also for futher refrence. A time signature determines how many beats are in a measure, and how long each beat is.

Ex: 4/4 Time signature
