got my samples chopped up and assigned to pads. When i go to the parameter page and turn poly to mono in the upper right corner all is cool. I play my samples and they stop when i press the next one. However when i want to lay down the bass, the bass cuts all the samples out cause i have it on mono. Okay i go to poly but my sample tend to overlap one another and sound kind of sloopy. I can lay down the bass though. My question is this do i have to trim my samples to the way i want to play them so that they never overlap? or is there another way to do it. I like putting it in mono cause they never overlap cause when i am done pressing one the other sample is pressed, however i can lay down the bass. Any suggestions?

copy your program so you have to of the same program in effect - set one to mono for your bass and the other to poly for your drum sounds or whatever else

Change your samples from One Shot to note on.

Why don't you just set the samples to a mute group and the bassline to another group, if need be?
