Inverted waveform in trim

Hi,

The waveform displayed in trim appears to be inverted when compared to the same sound displayed on soundforge etc............

Would anyone know if this is a display issue or when I transfer samples into the mpc it actually is playing an inverted wav !!!

You are completely correct. The display is inverted. This is also the case with official Akai OS. However the sample is output the right way round (not inverted).

Why is it all good.....well, if its just the display thats inverted then it makes no difference to sounds (ie, phase cancellation).

Why is the display inverted......anyones guess...a mistake probably..

It would be so easy for the OS to flip the waveform as a user option. I'm stating that the display is inverted because it is the opposite of Sound Forge and the WAV file copied on a CF card. Perhaps its correct for a waveform recorded by the MPC because the input stage inverts the incoming signal in the first place!

Whatever, if I have a sawtooth bass I expect to see the waveform the same way round as on the PC.

Im going to do some tests, because, if as you say, the mpc input stage inverts, then it's possible that a sound recorded by the mpc layered with a sound recorded elsewhere would phase cancel and because of the display we would never know why!

That would be bad......
