I've never been able to work this out but i'm 99% sure i know the answer-

Are there any parameters we can control externally by MIDI CC i.e. LFO amount etc either sent from another controler of DAW.

Also, while I'm asking questions which I should already know the answer to: Is there any way to make your DAW e.g. Ableton trigger samples on a specific Program in the 1k. i.e. If I've got Program 1, 2 and 3 loaded to the MPC's RAM and i've got Program 2 selected on Main can i send MIDI to the MPC to triger samples from Program 1.

in os2, we will eventually be able to assign incoming midi ccs to various parameters in the mpc.

2, you have to be currently "in" a track with a specified program to trigger a pad. my solution would be to create a program specifically meant to be triggered from the outside.
