JJ OS for 1000

What is the benefit of installing the JJ OS over the current OS? Please be gentle with the answer as I am a noob!

Seriously tho to me the most important feature was being able to retain Stereo samples when chopping. The Akai OS converted chops to mono which was weak. There are SEVERAL benifits of the JJos and to list them all would be insanity . Let me just say this. Trust the forum, everyone that uses the JJos stays with it happily ever after. If your uncertain, try the free one. You can switch back but you wont. Oh and because its standard protocol please use search. Peace

there's a lot to be gained with jj osv1 (497b at the mo')

midi cc control out - from sliders
realtime control of a whole track (not one pad at a time) with qlink.
graphic editor (piano-roll style) of midi & drum tracks, midi cc, qlink , realtime slider recordings.

huge new program editor with all elements on show, and the ability to edit all pads at once (whole)....

different audio track recording capabilities,

im sure theres lots more.....just that ive got sooo used to it, i can hardly remember the wackai version.

So would you guys so for me as a noob, that instead of messing around with the OS on the Akai that I just got to simply before starting anything, getting the JJ OS installed and up and running with all the bells and whistles? Should I go for OS1 or OS2. I don't mind paying $$$ for the password as the site explains.

Anyone know where a good manual is where I can print and then read and follow along as I try to install and learn to use it. The site provided here as link to the JJ OS site has manuals, but for some reason they seem very bleak and plain...unless there is something wrong with there site...plus I did not see any .pdf's.

but will this follow the basic OS installed on the MPC or is JJ OS the same and I can still use this tutorial as wel with JJ OS and I will be fine?

jjos v1 (497b) is very stable, there'll always be a small number of bugs to tweak out.

but os2 is really brand new (dec'07), and technically still under massive development, i would steer clear of it in order to keep your workflow healthy - theres lots yet still to be completed in os2, and not final until march 08, so using os 1 now, (30$ buy) to get yer code....

then get os2 after a little while, and u can try it free - with no saves enabled - but if u like the way its going and decide to start building separate programs for os2 (they're not universally compatible) u pay more $$ - get an os2 code - then cos u can have both installed on one mpc it can boot either way by holding just one button at power up. so working fully in os1, then messing around in os2 during a bit of a break is the way ive been doing it.
