After startup turn the datawheel while holding STOP. Maybe your display contrast is way off.

If that doesn't work turn it on while holding ERASE to do a factory reset.

Pull out the memory expansion if the above doesn't solve it. Not difficult, just hold the sides/corners.

Btw, in the thread subject you put:"MPC1000 BootBlock Ver:1.03" do you see this on startup too?

So in the end I have taken it in to a place to get it fixed and am awaiting a verdict .
