hello

for one who want to buy an mpc (1000 or 2500) is better buy immediately the new os or if i start with the akai one then when i pass to jj (if i pass) don't change everything that i have to learn all from beginning..?

which are the differences? i mean only workflow or also other features added?

i say go for it immediately. think of it this way: when you begin learning a computer program (microsoft word, photoshop, etc) you don't start with the outdated version from a couple years back. the same goes for the MPC os - it's best to start "current."

the additions and changes can be seen in the online manual.

ok i've seen the version 4, what change respect the 3..
so are just things like where i can find things..
don't change anything with functions ecc.

i think that probably for who learn is better use the standard os because i can find all in the akai manual.. probably better explained..

or not?

or not?

not.

just read this 4.9x manual, install 4.9x, buy a password and figure it out: that's all there is to it. the manual contains all the information you're asking for.

Im a newbie to this too, my first MPC 1000m, with jjos 3 i believe. lol

my MPC 1000 is wiped clean. i dont even have the demo song! i have zero beats, instruments, etc.. how can i get started. I tried recording WAV files from a CD and that didnt work, i wasnt even getting feed from the cd playing, i tried hooking up my MPC to my mixer and tables, but me being stupid, i dont have any sounds to play any way.. im like totally lost... I keep reading about drum kits, is that what i need to get started or atleast get some type of beat?

Hey DJ,

You need some type of program editor with the .WAV file. I have a MAC and use PAD187 I'm not sure what you can convert on a PC with. You can sample the wave file and that will create the first program for you and then keep sampling. Because I'm new I'm not sure of the pad off of memory but [mode] + [pad 5] to record, move the toggle wheel so find INPUT THRU. and you should see the VU meters bounce with the beat. And that is how you start form scratch. But to purchase a kit or get free sounds check out this site for there free stuff in the [sounds] section uptop^^^^, I hope this helps.

Good luck
