New os2 Grid Patterns

Is this only for midi?
I can make some cool grooves w/ it by hitting mode + pad 11.
I can't figure out how to get it to play back with the rest of my sequence.
Its good for quick editing some hats, but how can you play it back w/ your sequence in the main screen? If you can't what is its purpose?

yeh same thing happend to me.

but i found if u go grid edit and press window it works

go to grid edit and press shift + Pad1-16

btw: Shift is your best friend in OS2
