updatin the os i mpc1k

i just dont understand one thing
i read many times these instructions "how to update os in mpc 1k" containing strange actions like turnig off the mpc and turining it on while holding the window button blah blah blah...

... while >> I << just need to upload the file onto my CF, select it and press "do it"

If you have the Akai OS you cannot see the .bin file or the .os2 file in the load screen, which is why, if you have the akai os, you need to hold the window button whilst turning on the mpc to get the JJOS. If you have the JJOS, you can just do as you do and select the new os file from the load screen.
