I have been using JJ OS1 4.97 for a few months now.

I rloaded the first version of OS2 and paid for my password.
I can switch between OS1 and OS2 with no probs.

Since then I have bee still used OS1.

The problem now is that I can't load the latest version of OS2.

Another helpful MPC forum user advised me that...
" you can't load version .80 of OS2 unless you have version 4.98 of OS1, so install version 4.98 of OS1 and then you can load version .80 of OS2."

So, I loaded and installed OS1 v4.99 with no issues.

I then tried to load mpc1000_jv101.os2 (with current OS = OS1 4.99) but get a message 'A correct OS file was not found'.

Then OS1 4.99 loads up.

Am I doing something wrong? Any tips guys?

Dont know too..

Try re-downloading everything, factory reset etc.

It sounds like you are trying to install OS2 by using the old method of holding down the window key during boot.

You will need to boot up the MPC first and then choose the OS2 file from the file directory.

Also keep in mind that it seems you have to boot into OS1 in order to upgrade to a newer OS2 version as a well. At least I did going from a very early version into a newer one, though maybe that's been changed?

thanks guys...

loading the .bin file manually (rather than boot + window) from OS1 did the job.
