os2 1.01

Let's say I create a new instrument, apply a sample, go into amp and make the instrument monophonic for voice and play type: mono in upper right.

If the instrument is set to one shot and i record a track it sounds good while playing pads and while recording. However, when i play it back all the notes are overlapping each other in sound. Not acting monophonic.

If i set it to note on the problem goes away but then i have to hold down the pad for the entire duration before hitting a new note. That makes jumping around to different pads difficult as it usually leaves small gaps between samples.

It's like mono one shot isn't sending note off on previous notes when new notes are played back after recording.

yeah i've been wondering about this also. it's quite annoying. but i think the only way i've been able to get it to work with so far is just recording each note of the melody on it's own pass. instead of recording the entire line at one time. or just sequence in each hit. within grid edit.

i'll have to remember to record each note separately like you said though that's a bit intense especially if you're triggering from a midi keyboard. at least for the time being

haven't experienced that bug, sounds not right at all
but all of my pads/samples are always note on

post up a step by step, i'll reproduce it and report it.

create a new INST prog

apply a sample, preferably a second or two (I actually used a jj synth sound, square, saw, whatever so it's set to loop in trim and i also tried just a regular sample with loop to off)

go into amp settings and make the voice mono for both Play in top right and voice, one shot or note on, doesn't matter.

you don't need to worry about the release but if you turn it up it might help in hearing the overlaps

now record some random stuff to midi or drum track, pay particular attention to intentionally playing notes over each other so there would be an obvios overlap if it were polyphonic. timing settings do not matter, happens with 1/8 or even tc off.

play it back, you should here notes occurring polyphonically. I tried several samples, recording before and after switching to note on and one shot and every time i play back it's polyphonic. almost as if it plays and seems to record fine.

everyone else, correct anything here if i'm wrong or missed something.

if all else fails i could create a quick project and upload it as an example.
