yeah man, i track outta my 1k into logic..i use an apogee ensemble, and jjos2 ... i NEVER use teh digital outputs of the 1k, cause it sounds flat and lifeless...the a-to-d conversion on the mpc's outputs just sounds punchier to me . so, the only beef i got is the damn mtc sync bugs: the 1k doesnt chase from middle of the track, only from the beginning, and the first 1/4 note of the output is always garbled when its slaved in mtc...chase and lock works great in midi clock with spp, but you lose your t.c.'s swing ... :(

ez!

damn

that's the whole reason i want to switch

becuz the mtc sync doesn't work perfect with the mbox and protools

also for more inputs

but the sync is the main reason

so i guess the problem is the 1k then

what about syncing with a 2500?

same problems?

one more Q, jacky why do you need chase from the middle of the track instead of the beginning, i'm trying to get all of this down because I have to pick up Logic xpress and pro tools this weekend, thanks in advance for helping me sort this out.

im using a motu896hd with a macbook and it's easy to just sync the mp to logic ... this is weird (and i forgot how i figured it out) but then i hit PAUSE which also lights the play button ... then hit record and for whatever reason, it picks up at the right spot. if you try to record the traditional ways, it has a hard time picking up consistently or even in the right spot (but that was on 8.0, im on 8.0.2 now and havent tested it yet)

usually insert a bar before my sequence on the mpc just to get that first hit perfect without having to loop.

"usually insert a bar before my sequence on the mpc just to get that first hit perfect without having to loop." - yeah thats what i do too...

i wanted to chase and lock from anywhere in the song cause i wanna work on the track before i "print" my drums(mpc)...
