any idea how to stop double-triggers on pads?

im using the free version of the JJOS and i have the new build MPC with the new pads (i took it apart and checked). but sometimes im getting double hits. i get them way more when im playing 2 pads at the same time. this is kind of a bummer because i had planned to use my MPC as part of my live set-up. ive set up mute groups on and tried setting all the pads on mono to see if it would make any difference but i still get the double-hitting pads fairly often. what im wondering is maybe im hitting the pads too hard?? i know that sounds weird but ive never had an MPC before and i was previously using an SP303 which had rubber buttons more-so than pads. when i first got the MPC i noticed that when i was playing i could hit the pads with 2 forces very soft and very hard. no in between. should i try playing around with the pad sensitivity/velocity or is this a hardware problem and if so is there anyway i can repair it?

thanks man. its good to know that its not a problem with the machine but with me.
im assuming that when im hitting the pads (i have them on full level) that my original tap is triggering the pad and then by leaving my finger on the pad i push it down more and therefore get the double-trigger.

you can control the YOU part. with the free jjos, you can't control the machine part

jjos2 allows you to set the threshold value for how soft you must hit it for a note to be triggered. ie, you can set the threshold higher (more force required for NOTE ON, thus doesn't register double hits) or lower (less force required, allows lighter touches for NOTE ON - more potential for double hits)

there are also freeware midi plugins for DAW for duplicate filters, kills the same note struck 2 times within a user-defined threshold.
