Finally upgraded to version 2

I've been messing with version 2 since the start, but never broke down and bought it. Untill now. Once JJ added the arpeggio and the new velocity editing style, I new I loved it. I've tried to stay on version 1 in the meantime, knowing I couldn't save in version 2, but it has not been easy to do.

Am I able to load soundsets from V. 1 into V. 2 if I don't have anything in any of the fourth sample assignment spot? What is the best way to load older soundsets? Will a project from V1 load alright, asuming I don't use any of the capabilities that V2 has excluded? I'm just looking for the easiest way to convert all of my samples.

Does anyone notice the audio level being lower in V2?

yeah, you can load v1 pgms and seq in v2. but you need to tweak some stuff a little to make it sound like in v1. but it's not a very big deal, some filter settings, some loop settings. but once you converted it to v2, i'm pretty sure you can't go back to v1 without major changes.

Great news. I think I'll fit right in with V2. I can't see really needing to go back to V1 that much. If I do, I'll just resample whatever it is, and swap it to V2. Thanks for the reply...

i think v2 seems a little bit lower as the track mixer sets all tracks to 90 with 100 being the highest sample volume in v1. so when you switch the mix-mode from pgm to track, it gets a little lower.

layer volumes are also defaulted to a lower volume within programs. i hope that gets changed.

I'm thinking that these defaults are set with the purpose of creating headroom. I have'nt had much time to check it all out. But it seems like a logical explanation, from what I'm reading here.
