hi guys,
i think nym mentioned it once in a posting but after experiencing it myself i felt like giving it it's own thread.
today i looped about 32 samples and it worked like a **** charm! it was so easy to find clip-free loop points, i sometimes didn't even had to zoom in.
and i remember trying to loop these samples two month before and stopped because i just couldn't loop them without nasty clicks.
so something must have happened without jj telling us.
very very nice!

yeah i don't know what it is, i mean i still get clicks sometimes (especially when changing the pitch of a looped sample)

but for the most part looping is easier to do from further out - and in general. i am getting clickless loops from a less-zoomed state than i was EVER getting, even when i zoomed way in.

though a sample-level user-defined crossfade would still be fantastic, i am pleased to feel like SOMETHING is happening differently in there with looping.

to me, it just loops better... :)

nah, seriously, you can now adjust loop-points without listening to them. if it looks like it's looping without clicks it will.
i could find a perfect looking loop-point before, but it still cliped like hell.

what version are you guys running? I bought mine mid last month and sometimes I can't avoid that 0 point click...

1.12, first noticed it on 1.11

the click is still there but i notice it less. i could be wrong and i guess it could just be a per-sample thing, but i stand by the assumption that something has changed.

It's still as prevalent as ever. Even when i load samples with pre-defined loop points, that loop seemlessly on the 2000XL, the 1000 still introduces clicks when its pitched up and down.

go figure.

even a very simple crossfade would take care of that pitch-click completely.
hopefully, someday.

sample loop crossfade would boost the machine's power as a SAMPLER as much as altloop did.

does it clip even if you play with the samples attack-decay-values?! Don't have a proper sample for testing it out atm...

(go to program, go to/hilight the level value for the sample, press window)

Has anyone tried looping samples in the akai os? does it work? if the sample loops perfectly in a wave editor without applying crossfade it should work in the 1k. the loop points are saved in the metadata of the wave. i really think this can be fixed.

I remeber the akai os presets having some looped samples and they worked flawlessly with the 16 levels tune.

when i load the samples the loop points are set at the exact same place as in peak.

peak=no alias
1k= random clicks that vary in volume level, always at the loop point. tried adjusting the loop point and it gets worse.

we need to be a little more proactive about getting this fixed.

has anyone investigated this thoroughly with jj?

This is frustrating because I have some awesome mellotron samples that were perfectly looped by hollow sun. they are some of my bread and butter programs. I have used them in other samplers without having to touch the loop points. the 1k is the first sampler that has ever given me any issues with them.

i still think it's working much better right now. i loop often and it was never as easy as it is now for me. this can't be me getting insane. IT CAN'T!!!

joshmikszan, do u still have those hollowsun samples. i used to but cant find the website no more.
