Would it be possible for my MPC2500 to record and loop MIDI notes in much the same way as a guitar loop pedal?
Ideally, record would start as soon as a pad or MIDI note is hit. (this would get rid of problems faced when changing sequences)
The 'stop' key could be used to set the end point of a bar when pressed, and the end point of the sequence. This would set a continuous loop point. Tracks could then be recorded and muted within that sequence.
BPM could then be calculated from the same button press (similar to 'Tap Tempo' function, but the time value, bars/time signature, would need to be specified after the button is pressed).
I would like to record a MIDI performance and then chop up the recording, as can be carried out with audio samples.
If MIDI could be looped live like a guitar Phrase Sampler pedal that would REALLY Kick Ass!!!
PS, If anyone knows of any circuit bent sequencer that carries out the above features For The Love Of God PLEASE let me know!
Hell, if your as pissed off as I am that you can't find a MIDI sequencer with these functions then, send your gripes to this post!
