Noterepat problem 2K vs 1K

Here are two examples of a noterepeat, holding one pad, 120BPM, 1/16 timing
I trigger a Korg Mono/Poly synth with an internal midi->cv converter

On the MPC1000 with JJ os it goes just fine:

A rare timing and missing notes.

I have the same problem with the Juno-60 and a converter of the same company. Using a different converter (Kenton) it goes fine.

Also when I use the external CV/Gate inputs of the Mono/Poly with an external midi-cv converter is works great too.


Anyone got any idea why these converters have trouble with the 2K and not with the 1K?

Just tried it with JJ os 1, still no problems. I don't really like to put an Akai os on it to try.

it remembers me my korg monopoly when i was used to trig it with the mpc (no converter, just rim shot audio out in the arpegiator...)

this track was made with a monopoly for all the sounds and sequencing via mpc...just for the try...

hmm not sure Sander.. does sound like something sketchy with the converter. maybe you could record the midi output into a sequencer and see what the difference between the data is. i dont have a midi cv converter but i bet thats really fun with note repeat.

Hi Forax, I just got a reply of the manufacturer and he also suggest that recording:

Try to check and to compare MIDI data transmitted from your devices (MIDI ports) with any MIDI monitor. Use http://www.midiox.com for example.
A problem can be in Note-On and Note-Off command timing. The problem occurs if Note-On of next key is transmitted before Note-Off of previous key. By other words - new key is pressed before old key is depressed. Our MIDI converter can't press the same key twice so some keys are then lost.

go into step edit and make sure all your durations are good. i midified an sh101 and it did the same thing, then i got the synhouse jack and it had a 4note buffer, which got rid of the problem of overlaps.
